Membership Information

• Membership is for children in grades from Kindergarten to 12th.
• The club membership is $30 per year. The year begins in October and ends in June.l
• The Club does not meet during the month of September, however there are chess tournaments and activities that student mat be requested to participate in.
• Members receive a T-shirt and Membership ID card. 
• Members are annually elected to 4 offices; President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
• Officers appoint members to other jobs within the Club.
• Club business meetings are held monthly.


Affiliation


• The Monroeville Chess Club is a scholastic based club affiliated with the U.S. Chess Federation.
• The U.S. Chess Federation is the official membership organization for players of all ages and ability -- from beginners to grandmasters. USCF is a nonprofit organization established to increase your knowledge and enjoyment of chess. The USCF represents the United States in the World Chess Federation, enabling members to compete with chess players around the world.
• We encourage members to join the U.S. Chess Federation for $19 or $25 annually. The U.S. Chess Federation maintains member's national chess rating up to date. The $19 Scholastic Membership and the $25 Junior Membership include the monthly subscription to the Chess Life Magazine. Economy Scholastic Membership for $13 which provides NO publications is available for families with multiple Scholastic age (under 15) students.
